Alma Snyder Obituary

Alma Elvira Snyder 89 of Bellingham passed peacefully with her daughters by her side on Friday March 29th. Born in Boston she was the wife of the late Robert Snyder and daughter of the late Richard & Elvira Syjatz.  Alma passed peacefully with her daughters by her side. Alma is survived by her daughters Barbara Hughes and her husband Kristopher of Bellingham & Leslie Signore and her husband Adam of Medway and her four grandchildren; Connor, Michael, Matthew & Jessica. She leaves sisters Virginia & Bertha and also several nieces & nephews. She worked for John Hancock doing data entry on the original IBM machines that required punch cards. Alma also worked at Allen Penn doing order fulfillment functions. Alma and her daughters often had Girls Night Out that later would be renamed Little Girls Night Out when her granddaughter started to attend. Alma had a great affinity for the Volkswagen Beetle and owned many models from the original round beetle thru all its permutations until the new beetle body style. We fondly remember The Red Baron, Bismarck and Maximillian (aka Blue Moon). Alma had a great love of animals, caring for many cats. She was very fond of dachshunds. Her love of animals extended to all and later in life she would become a vegetarian because of it. Alma loved crafting. She made her own greeting cards with quite an extensive set of punches and stamps. Alma and her sister Virginia shared lengthy weekly Friday phone calls and loved to clip headlines and stories and mail them to each other. Family & friends are invited to graveside services at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Wednesday April 3rd at 1:45pm In lieu of flowers please donate to the animal center of your choice or to the MSPCA online donation form: https://www.mspca.org/donate‐now/
