Antonietta "Etta" Covino

Antonietta “Etta” Covino of Hull, MA passed away on Dec 4, 2018 at the Tippett Hospice in Needham, from complications of kidney cancer surrounded by her loving family and friends. Etta leaves behind her mother, Carmela P. Covino of Needham and two sisters Maria N. Covino and Elisa Covino both of Needham. Her father, Anthony B. Covino, passed away in 2013. Etta also leaves her longtime partner, Scott A. Underdown of Norwell, MA.

Etta loved the beach and Cape Cod. She resided most of her adult life in Hull where she loved to bike, run, and walk the shore of Nantasket Beach. Born in Needham, MA she graduated from Needham High in 1980 and then went on to receive her Associates of Science degree in Health Information Management from Massachusetts Bay Community College in 1986. Etta achieved certification as a Registered Health Information Technician and more recently was certified by The American Academy of Professional Coders as an interventional radiology coder. Etta was also a member of the Massachusetts Health Information Association. Etta enjoyed her job at the Massachusetts General professional billing office for many years where she worked as a medical coder specializing in interventional radiology. Etta’s fondest memories were that of her childhood: playing in Mills Field with her sisters and the neighborhood children and her mother watching from the kitchen window. She was living every child’s dream. She remained close to her sisters and to these childhood friends and would reminisce with them about days gone by.  

Her funeral will be from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Fri Dec 7 at 9:30 AM followed a Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, Newton Upper Falls at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours Thurs 4-7 PM.
