Diana Warren Wells, 78, died on December 10, 2018 after a year-long battle with lymphoma. She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Warren M. Wells, Jr. They met in Philadelphia, married in Chestnut Hill, PA, lived in Devon, PA and Bellevue, WA before settling in Needham, MA in 1969.
Diana devoted her life to raising her four daughters and most enjoyed her role as ‘Mimi’ to her eight grandchildren: Averill, Chase, Sydney, Thomas, Benjamin, Audrey, Annabel and Lydia.
Christmas was her favorite time of year; welcoming extended family and friends to her festively decorated home became a cherished tradition. Diana loved to read, garden, travel and lavish attention on her cherished Siamese cats and English Cocker Spaniels.
Diana was a tireless volunteer, giving her time to the Museum of Fine Arts, the Dedham Women’s Exchange, the Fox Hill Garden Club and many other local organizations.
In addition to her husband, she leaves behind her daughters: Isabel Wells and David Meininger of Bolton; Merry Logan and Steven of Englewood, Colorado; Liza Meyer and Anthony of Jamaica Plain; and Leila Wells of Maynard.
Born in Philadelphia to Anne Scull and Chester I. Warren, Diana was raised in Chestnut Hill and graduated from Springside School. She is survived by her brothers, Chester I. Warren, Jr. of North Wales, PA and Paul S. Warren of Chestnut Hill, PA and their families, including two adored nieces Eliakim and Camilla. She was predeceased by her sister, Lady Agnew (Whitney Warren) of London.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 21st at 11:00 AM at St. Dunstan’s Church, 18 Springdale Ave in Dover.
