On June 27, Hallie Piercy, 97 of Newton, died peacefully surrounded by family.
Beloved wife, of 71 years to the late Jeff Piercy; mother to the late Maurice Piercy and Jerry Piercy. She is survived by sons Thomas Piercy and his wife Sandra, Michael Piercy and his wife Susan and daughter Anita Wysocki and her husband Walter. Hallie was proud of her 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Born and married in North Carolina, Hallie and Jeff enjoyed their many adventures living around the country including NY, CA, MD, TN and finally settled in Newton in 1954. The many friends and neighbors they made along the way have always remained important in their lives. She was an active member of the Newton United Methodist Church, former Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed nature and the outdoors. For a number of years, she managed an assembly plant cafeteria in Watertown. Always busy, Hallie loved gardening, quilting, crocheting, baking and many other kinds of crafts. The family will receive friends from 4-7pm on Sunday, July 1 at Eaton Mackay Funeral Home, 465 Centre Street, Newton Corner.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday July 2, 10am at the Newton United Methodist Church, 430 Walnut Street, Newtonville; burial to follow at the Newton Cemetery.
