James H. Curtin, of Moody, ME formerly of Beverly, Natick and Newton, passed away after a long illness on Oct 9, 2018. He was 83.
Jim was born and raised in Newton and graduated from Newton High in 1953 and Wentworth Institute in 1955. After college he served in the US Air Force. He was an engineer for Polaroid Corp for 23 years and in 1988 he purchased Naugler Mold and Engineering in Beverly, which he was still operating at the time of his death. Jim was an avid gardener and WWII history buff.
He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Blanche (Doherty) Curtin, the loving father of Timothy J. Curtin and his wife Teresa of West Newton and Stephanie Pilkington and her husband Jay of Bolton, dear “Grampy” of Trevor, Brendan and Annie Pilkington and Sean and Gabriella Curtin and brother of the late Georgiana Curtin. He is also survived by his sisters in law Barbara Murphy and Elizabeth Duddy and her husband James, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visiting hour on Sat Oct 13 beginning at 9:30 until 10:30 in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Washington St Newtonville followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery Waltham.
