Jessie Christine (Chris) Buchanan

Jessie Christine Buchanan "Chris" died peacefully Jan 19, 2019. Born in Sydney, NS to Malcolm and Mary (Greenwell) Dean of Tarbot. Chris started her teaching career after grade 11 at Iona, Indian Brook, Kempt Head, all one room schoolhouses that spanned 15 years; she immigrated to Natick Mass in 1963, retired from Baker and Confectioners Wonder Bread, Natick where she was an accountant and Teamsters Shop Stewart representing coworkers and plant employees.

Chris, as she was known to family and friends, was predeceased by William A. Buchanan in 1976. She is survived by Sylvia (Soule) Quatrale, husband Philip Quatrale, Plymouth; Robert W Buchanan, St. Catherines, Ont and Gregory Buchanan, Turners Falls; also, the love of her life, grandson Robert "Rob" Soule of Worcester who cared for her until the end with the love and support of his brother Michael Quatrale and his wife Sarah, Pembroke and sister Nicole Salzsieder and her husband Hanz, Marshfield; also, Grandson Christopher MacDonald, Brockville Ont, Adrian Batya ,OH and Ashley Braucher , OH, Amber Braucher, OH as well as many great grandchildren, Marlee Lanham, Mary, Sadie, Lucy Quatrale and Arthur, Edie and Hanz Jr Salsieder. as well as other extended family. Jessie was loving and devoted to her family and friends especially son Gregory. She was a devout Christian and always supported her church and endeavors for the less fortunate.

Visitation will take place Monday, January 28, 2019 at Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave Needham 4-6 PM followed by funeral service 6-7PM,

A memorial service will be scheduled summer of 2019 in Tarbot and interment of ashes in Riverside Cemetery, North River will be her final resting place.
