Katherine T. Mullen (née Cotter), 93, of NEWTON, on December 27, 2018. Beloved daughter of the late Ellen A. (Sullivan) Cotter and Michael J. Cotter. Cherished wife of 46 years to John Madden Mullen, J.D., who predeceased her. Beloved mother of Katherine E. Mullen, J.D. and husband John J. McDonagh of Middle Village, NY; Mary P. Mullen, MD, PhD and husband Harold J. Burstein, MD, PhD of Wellesley; and Elizabeth A. Mullen, MD and husband Stephen J. Wukitch, PhD of Needham. Sister of the late Cornelius E. (Ted) Cotter, John F. Cotter, Richard P. Cotter, and Margaret E. Dada. Adored grandmother of Elizabeth, Madden, Ellen, Katherine, Abigail, Caleigh, Chloe and Brian, and treasured aunt, great-aunt and great-great aunt to dozens of nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue, NEEDHAM on Tuesday, January 1st from 2-5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 9 Glen Road, WELLESLEY on Wednesday, January 2nd at 11 AM, followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Needham. Month’s Mind Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated at Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Parish, 270 Elliot Street, NEWTON, at 9:00 a.m. on January 27, 2019. Friends and relatives are kindly invited to attend all events.
A lifelong resident of Newton Upper Falls, Mrs. Mullen attended Boston University, and worked for over 50 years as a paralegal at the law firm of Weston, Patrick, Willard & Redding in Boston. She served as president of the Emerson School PTA and of the Newton Upper Falls Women’s Club; was a member of the Parish Council and Eucharistic Minister at Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, Newton; served on the Board of Directors of the Stone Institute, Newton; was a member of the á Kempis Circle, Wellesley and served numerous other community organizations.
