Lena F. Toli , a lifelong Newton resident, died on February 20, 2019.
She was the daughter of the late Starve and Lillian Toli, devoted sister of the late Richard V. Toli and dedicated friend to the late Martha M. McKinley. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews, whom she absolutely adored.
Lena was born at Newton Hospital, raised on Oakland Street in Newton Corner and was a graduate of Our Lady’s High School Class of 1963. Lena was a Life Underwriter for John Hancock Insurance for more than 30 years. While working full time, she attended Simmons College in the evening, ultimately attaining a Bachelor’s Degree. Lena always wanted to volunteer, help others and give back. She would donate her time visiting nursing homes, providing rides to doctor’s appointments, delivering Meals on Wheels and financially assist those in need.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 12:00 Noon in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Newtonville. Interment will immediately follow in Newton Cemetery.
