Mark A. Oberle, 57, loving husband and father, and longtime active member of the Needham community, passed away on August 10, 2018.
Mark is survived by his wife Carol (Leifur) Oberle, and his daughters Devon, Kira and Elena. He was also father to Carson Oberle, who passed away in 2001. He is survived by his brothers Gary and David Oberle, both of CO. His parents Joseph and Lois Oberle and his sister Denise are deceased.
Mark was born and raised in Denver, CO and received his undergraduate degree from Colorado School of Mines and his Masters from UCLA. He worked as a sales manager for Quest Software for 18 years.
Mark loved youth sports, and coached his daughters in basketball, softball, soccer, baseball and hockey. He was an avid Needham Rockets fan and was the public-address announcer for Needham High basketball games. He was also an active member of the Congregational Church, serving as a deacon and chaperoning youth service trips. In addition, he was an elected Needham Town Meeting member.
A service to celebrate Mark’s life will be held on Saturday, August 18 at 11 am at the Needham Congregational Church, 1154 Great Plain Ave Needham.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mark can be made to the Needham Congregational Church or to the Mass General Cancer Center in support of the Targeting a Cure for Lung Cancer Research Fund.
