Michael E. "Mike" Murphy

Michael E. “Mike” Murphy passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019. He was 46 years old. Michael was the beloved son of Marguerite “Peg” (Flanagan) and the late Michael E. Murphy. He was the brother of Matthew Murphy of Gloucester. Mike leaves many friends and relatives, along with his faithful canine “Poppy”.

Michael was born in Brighton and lived most of his life in Needham. He attended Needham Public Schools and was a graduate of Mt. Ida College, Class of 1994. He was a “Jack of All Trades” and master of most. He loved nature and animals and eventually became an arborist. Trees were his passion.

He will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bartholomew Church, 1180 Greendale Ave, Needham, on Tuesday, October 8th at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael’s name ma be made to Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930.
