Norman Abbott Obituary

Norman Abbott of North Hill Needham, passed away peacefully in his 100th year on Oct 16, 2018.  Predeceased by his wife Ursula, and father of Hilary and Michael, Larry and Cathy, and Carol and Richard, he also leaves 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  Born in Toronto, he lived in Needham for over 60 years.  He had a long career at Fabric Research Laboratories in Dedham and was active at the First Parish in Needham, singing in the choir and frequently providing music for the service.  A skilled musician, he played both the piano and viola and performed in many local musical productions and with the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra.  His summers were spent at a cottage he built on Georgian Bay in Canada.  He lived at North Hill for the last few years of his life where he received loving care.  His long life was marked by an enduring fascination with life's large and small wonders that continues to inspire curiosity and joy in his loved ones.
