Patricia Ann Hylka “Patty” was born on July 28, 1930 and died peacefully on January 19, 2019 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert Hylka. She was the mother of Susan Hylka Niles and grandmother of Aaron T. Niles, Benjamin N. Niles and Caleb D. Niles. Patty was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was raised in Webster, Massachusetts with her sisters Esther K. and Virginia M. Kasierski and their parents John and Mary Kasierski. She attended St. Joseph grammar school and graduated from Bartlett High School. After graduation, Patty was employed by the Boston Gas and Electric Company for several years. After her marriage she became co-owner of Dudley Excavators with her husband. She attended Quinsigamond Community College and Worcester State College where she earned a bachelors degree and began a career in Occupational Therapy. Her passions included reading, gardening, performing arts, music, and movies. Throughout her adult life Patty was an active member of numerous town and church organizations. She also was a board member of the Southern Worcester County VNA. She will be remembered as a dear friend to many, a true, lifelong learner and a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA 01570, on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10AM. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Old Worcester Rd, Webster, MA. Reception to follow. Memorials in Patricia’s name may be made to The Stanley R.
