Susan E. (Anthonsen) Dukeman

Susan E. (Anthonsen) Dukeman, 62, of Belmont, formerly of Needham, passed away on October 24, 2019. Loving mother of William Dukeman of Weymouth and Michele and her husband Peter Vincent of Belmont. Grandmother of Peter, Lia, Charlie, and Mason. Sister of Margaret Hogan of Watertown and the late Barbara Anthonsen-Cowan. 

Susan was born in Needham on February 27, 1957, to the late Edward Anthonsen and Eleanor (Hasenfus) Anthonsen. After graduating from Needham High School in 1975, Susan worked for Coca-Cola and later spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry, the majority of that time at The Charles Hotel in Cambridge.
 

She will be fondly remembered as a strong woman who loved her children and grandchildren dearly; she was most happy spending time with them in the garden, swimming with them in her pool and cheering them on from the sidelines of the various sports they played. 

She fought a tough battle with COPD, which ultimately ended up taking her life. Susan spent two months under hospice care in her daughter's home creating cherished memories together with Michele, her son-in-law Peter and their family; and two months at the Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland where she received wonderful care. The last few days of her life were spent with her loving children by her side.

Visitation will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Tuesday, October 29th from 3-6, concluding with a funeral service at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made online in Susan’s honor to The Parmenter Foundation’s Healthcare and Hospice Services.
