Agnes Corrigan Obituary

Agnes Loretta (Hiltz) Corrigan of Marlborough, Massachusetts, formerly of West Newton, passed away on January 2, 2025 at the age of 89, after a brief illness.  She was the daughter of Margaret “Tootie” and Kenneth Hiltz. A wonderful mother with a unique sense of humor, she was always ready to provide comfort or tell a joke to lift another’s spirits.

Family was always very important to Agnes. She leaves behind her two beloved sons, Patrick of Southborough and Michael of Marlborough, as well as Patrick’s wife, Deborah. She was predeceased by her husband Tom, brother Jack Hiltz, and sister JoAnn Caira. Other survivors include sister Lorraine and brother-in-law Francis “Buddy” Whalen, as well as many nieces and nephews who adored her for her quick wit and generosity.

Her 50-year career in the printing industry was another significant part of Agnes’s life. In a tribute to her dedication, both of her sons followed her into the industry. Years later, she would find another special niche at the front desk of the American Cancer Society office in Framingham, where she was described as “a bright light that we all needed as we walked into work every morning.” Throughout both careers, she was a friend to many and generously offered kindness and support to all she encountered.

Agnes loved outings with her sisters, and always held a special place in her heart for her brother, Jack, whom she often visited in Sudbury before his passing. A lifelong Elvis fan, she looked forward to monthly excursions to the casino with younger son Michael.
