Albert John Mercuri, born on September 22, 1926, was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend who passed away on July 9, 2024.
A proud World War II veteran, Albert served his country as an airplane mechanic. His post-war life was marked by a short career at Boeing in Seattle, WA, which he left behind to pursue a more personal endeavor. Returning to Needham, MA, Albert established an auto service station, A&A Cities Service, a staple of the community, which he operated for over 35 years. His passion for life was evident in his love for horse racing and Coca-Cola, and his joy was spending time at his beloved log cabin in Maine, where he spent many cherished moments with Family and Friends.
Albert’s legacy is carried on by his loving family: his son Albert Jr., his daughter Lori Jean, and her husband Shawn Donovan. He was a grandfather to five grandchildren—Natalia LaVallie,
Alexander Mercuri, Sarah Fortin, Chelsea Donovan, and Tyler Donovan—and a great-grandfather to Madison Fortin. His life was a testament to resilience, love, and the pursuit of happiness.
Albert’s memory will forever be a beacon of inspiration to his family and all who knew him.
