Albert E. "Mike" "Al" Mills

Albert E. “Mike “, “Al” Mills of Needham died on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 77 years old. Born in Brookline, he was the son of the late Roger and Vida (Carr) Mills. Mike grew up in Wellesley and was a graduate of Wellesley High School Class of 1951. He moved to Needham in 1959. He worked for 19 years as he Assistant Manager of the Morse Shoe Distribution. Mr. Mills owned General Business Services in Needham from 1987-1993 and was a member of the Needham Business Association during that time. He was a former Needham Town Meeting member for many years. Mike was a member of the Friends of BU Hockey and the Needham Retired Men’s Club. He was also a member of Meridian Lodge AF & AM in Natick and was awarded his 50 year pin. . An avid sports fan, he enjoyed Duke Basketball and was a NY Yankees and Giants fan. Mike enjoyed reading, boating and being on the water and vacationing in Aruba.
The beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” (McCurdy) for 53 years, he was the loving father of Karen Mills of Durham, NC. Brother of Deborah Mills of Portland OR and the late Richard Mills. Brother in law of Dr. Richard Elton and his wife Joan of Lancaster, CA and uncle of James, David, Laura Elton and June Davis. He is also survived by his loving grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services at the Christ Episcopal Church 1132 Highland Ave Needham on Friday Jan. 7th at 10:00 AM, Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellesley. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
