Alexander Decamp Cameron, known commonly as Sandy, of Dedham, MA formerly of Needham and Newton, passed away on August 22nd, 2023 after a long and arduous battle with metastatic Colon Cancer. Sandy lived as he died, surrounded by those he cared about and those who cared for him. His last memories of this world are of friends visiting with his favorite snacks, a beautiful photo shoot with his daughter for her pregnancy, His closest family recalling all of their favorite tales of good times spent together, and his favorite music playing on the television. Sandy was born in Newton MA to his parents Donald and Rusty Cameron, and his brother Scott. He grew up in a veteran’s project, spending most summers in Vinal Haven Maine, with his brother and cousins. Sandy was an ear for anyone who needed help, whether they were struggling with substance abuse or battling mental illness. Sandy will always be remembered for his endless abundance of kindness, incredible charity, ability to tell amazing stories, and ability to play cards. He will also be remembered for all of the love he had for music, motorcycles and hot rods. He had a fascination for nature, and his ability to face endless ailments, all while still making us laugh.
