Alfonso Keyes Gonzalez Orbegoso passed away on December 29th at age 47. Alfonso “Sito” was born on July 5th, 1973 in Boston. He graduated from Needham High School in 1991 then graduated with a major in Comparative Religion at the University of Iowa. Having excelled at drawing and painting from an early age, Alfonso transitioned to building upcycled candelabras which were exhibited at Roxbury Innovation Center’s “Metallic Landscapes” in 2017. Throughout his life he enjoyed the outdoors, philosophy and classical music between painting houses, teaching preschool and working at the Needham Public Library. Alfonso was preceded in death by his father Alfonso Gonzalez Orbegoso and is survived by Kristen Ashley Howe and their daughter Diyana Sylvie Marie Orbegoso, his mother Margaretta Keyes Gonzalez Orbegoso, his brothers Geoffrey Orbegoso and Ricardo Gonzalez Orbegoso. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alfonso’s memory may be made to the Amazon Conservation Team www.amazonteam.org which works with indiginous peoples to preserve biodiversity, health and culture in South America. A private burial was held at Needham Cemetery.
