Alfred R. “Fayo” Piccioli, 98, a longtime Needham resident, passed away on June 29, 2022. Alfred was the loving husband for 69 years of the late Lena (Paoletti) Piccioli. Born in Framingham to the late Alessandro and Italia (Gregorini) Piccioli, he is survived by his children Linda Hardej and her husband Richard and David Piccioli and his wife Debra, his five grandchildren, Lisa Hardej and her wife Melissa DeRan, Alexander and his wife Amy, Michael and his wife Rachael, Zachary and his wife Lilen and Thomas Piccioli and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Robert Piccioli and sister-in-law Madeline Piccioli as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gina Mori, Enes Rossini, Rena Delarda, Lena Guarino, Tosca Lauze and Faustino Piccioli.
Alfred was born in Framingham and had served in the US Army during WW II as an interpreter. He moved to Needham in 1950 and in 1956 he and his brothers in law built his family home where he still resided. He worked as a warehouseman for 3M in Needham for over 25 years. He was an organic gardener (especially known for his heirloom tomatoes) and loved spending time with his family.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Joseph’s Church 1360 Highland Ave Needham on Fri July 8 at 10 AM followed by interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Thurs from 4-7 PM.
