Allen Moore, a long time Needham resident, died on Wednesday, March 2nd at his home. He was 92 years old. Born in Newfoundland, he was the son of the late Reuben and Merriam Moore. Allen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Needham for over 60 years. A US Army World War II veteran, Mr. Moore was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He retired as a foreman from Kennecott Copper in 1981 after 10 years of service and then worked at Southeastern Regional School for 7 years. Allen enjoyed traveling, walking and gardening. The beloved husband of 27 years to Theresa (Campbell) Killam Moore and the late Beatrice (Robart) Moore, he was the beloved daddy of Carol E. Moore of Westboro, Susan Hackett Moore and Kenny Wightman of Plymouth and step-father of Christine Dyment of Abington, Ricky Dyment of Randolph, Helen Glavin and husband Paul of S. Easton and the late Douglas Killam. Dear brother of Ruth Walsh, Phyllis Ahern, Mildred LaMaccia, the late James Moore and Barbara Baker. Allen is also survived by his step grandchildren; Daniel and his wife Jen Glavin, Jamie and his wife Sharon Dyment, Melissa McCormick and her husband Thomas, Jonathan Dyment, Gregory Glavin and Elizabeth Glavin. Step great grandfather of Daniel and Brandon Glavin, Elise and Tom McCormick and Jacob and Drew Dyment. Also survived by many nephews and nieces. Funeral Services at the First Baptist Church, 858 Great Plain Ave Needham on Monday March 7th at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Sunday from 4-7 PM. Interment with Military Honor will take place the Needham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Salvation Army 25 Shawmut Road, Canton MA 02021.
