Amalie Ann George, 65, of Needham and Sandwich, MA peacefully passed away embraced by her family on May 23, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late George S. George and Helen (Laganas) George. A lifelong resident of Needham, she was a graduate of Needham High School and earned her undergraduate degree from Regis College. Upon becoming a Certified Public Accountant, she established a successful accounting practice, Amalie Ann George, CPA, PC, which she proudly operated in Needham since 1995. During her career, she was involved with several professional organizations and she was known for her wholehearted dedication to her clients.
Beyond her professional achievements, Amalie was deeply devoted to her family, friends and church. Throughout her life she was a faithful steward of her beloved St. Demetrios Church in Weston. She was a member of the Parish Council, past president of Philoptochos, chair of the parish golf tournament (2024-2026), a member of the Philoptochos Scholarship Committee and the 60th Anniversary Gala committee.
At the close of tax season and during the summer and fall, Amalie relished traveling to Sandwich every weekend to play golf with her many friends at Quashnet Valley Country Club, as well as relaxing and enjoying lobster rolls on the beach.
Amalie is survived by her aunt, Patricia Dukakis of South Natick, and her cousins, Anastasia Sarantos Taskin and her husband Cengiz Taskin of Wyckoff, NJ, and Constantine Sarantos and his wife Elizabeth of Andover, MA and their children, Alyssa and Christopher, to whom she was their beloved “Auntie Amalie”. Her kindness and gentle manner, coupled with her sense of humor and spontaneous sparkles of mischief, will always be remembered. She will forever be in the hearts of her family, friends and colleagues.
Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham, on Thursday May 28th from 4-7pm. Her Funeral Service will be held in St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown St., Weston, on Friday May 29th at 10am. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Lowell.
