Ann (Howard) Benedict, 95, died on Friday November 29, 2024. Born in Portland, Maine on August 29, 1929, to Joseph Leonard Howard and Eleanor Roberts Howard, she was the oldest of their six children. Ann was a graduate of Thornton Academy in Saco, Maine and earned an Associates degree from Boston University in 1950. She held administrative positions for a private investor. She raised her family in Chelmsford MA where she lived for over thirty years, later residing in Wellesley and Needham. When she was younger, Ann loved gardening and was an accomplished pianist with a love of music that continued throughout her life. Ann was a loving wife and mother, fiercely devoted to her children and grandchildren, and was known for her warmth and kindness. The legacy she leaves for her family is to persevere through challenges, remain resilient, and live life with grace. Ann was preceded in death by her husband John Benedict and her son John Benedict Jr. and her siblings, as well as her son in law Mark Russell. She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Russell of Gaithersburg, Maryland and Allison (William) Mankivsky of Westwood, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Stephanie Russell, Michael (Kathryn) Russell, Sarah Mankivsky and Alex Mankivsky, and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Friday December 6th at 12 noon. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11am-12noon. Interment will take place at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Chelmsford.
