Ann Heaphy Congdon, 94 passed away Monday, June 28, 2021. She was the wife of the late Daniel Congdon Sr. Daughter of Harold Heaphy and Mary (Norton) Heaphy, Ann was born in Lee, MA where she attended Lee High School and the Elms College in Chicopee.
She leaves behind her children: Daniel Jr., Kevin, Thomas, Mary Anne Raffol, Christine Rasmussen, Joan Barr, Patricia Reilly and their spouses. Ann was the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Ann spent most of her life raising her family in Needham, MA where she was a member of St. Josephs Parish. In addition, she volunteered her time to Women’s Sodality, and was a cub scout and brownie leader. She was an avid sports fan, especially the Boston teams.
She and her husband Dan retired to their South Yarmouth home in the mid 1980’s where they enjoyed the ocean, neighborhood gatherings and golfing. Ann was an active member of the Red Hatters.
Visitation will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Saturday morning, July 3rd from 8:45 – 9:45. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Saint Joseph’s Church, 1360 Highland Ave, Needham, on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham. Donations in Ann’s memory may be made to the Marian Fathers Monastery, 2 Prospect Hill Rd, Stockbridge, MA 01263.
