Ann M (McNeaney) Hackett, 88, a life-long resident of Spencer, passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 20th. She was the beloved wife of Richard S Hackett for 67 years. She was the loving mother of Lee A Ferris and her husband Peter of Dennis, Karen E Hackett of Worcester and John L Hackett of Beverly. She leaves behind five granddaughters, Kaitlyn Ferris and her fiancée Michael Brickhouse of Chicago, IL, Elizabeth Hackett of West Newbury, Lauren Ferris and her wife Kristin of Halethorpe, MD, Sara Hackett and her fiancée Nick Guido of Salem and Margaret Hackett of Wenham. She was a devoted “Great MA” to Beckham Cregg. Ann was the only child of the late John J and Theresa J (Urban) McNeaney. Ann was devoted to her family raising her three children at home before returning to the workforce. She worked for the Spencer-East Brookfield School District in their cafeteria system for many years culminating her work years as the Cafeteria Manager at Lake Street School. She retired in 2000. She and her husband enjoyed many hours playing bingo and visiting different casinos across the country. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Ann’s life at a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, June 26th at Mary, Queen of the Rosary Church, Spencer at 11am. Interment will immediately follow at Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. The Hackett family offers their sincere appreciation to the nurses and PCA staff at JHC Hospice as well as the staff at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital.
