Ann Lovett (Ruth Ann) of Millis, Massachusetts, formerly of Needham for 44 years, died peacefully in Dedham on Tuesday, May 12. She was born in Binghamton, New York on May 17, 1948 to Ruth (Pollard) and Robert Fichenberg. Ann graduated from Bethlehem High School in 1966 and moved to Massachusetts to attend Northeastern University, where she met her husband John Lovett. Ann was a kind-hearted woman, an avid baker, and a lover of social events. She loved shopping, hosting for the holidays, and trying new recipes.
Ann traveled around the world and shared her love of travel with her children and friends. Some of her favorite trips included Cape Cod, England, France, Croatia, Spain, and Monaco. She enjoyed her return trips to New York, especially the dairy farm where she spent time as a child. One of her favorite vacation spots was the Clam Shack on Cape Cod, where she enjoyed watching the boats come in.
Ann graduated from Northeastern University in 1971 with a BS in Nursing. She later went on to earn a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Framingham State in 1996. She loved her first professional job as a school nurse in Kennebunkport, ME and enjoyed the rest of her nursing career as a maternity nurse at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Later in her career, she worked at Tufts Healthcare and Harvard Medical School. At Harvard she was a project manager and data specialist associated with healthcare policy. She collaborated on numerous clinical research publications and data analyses in cardiology and healthcare outcomes at the University.
She is survived by her daughter Kristen and partner Steve Terpstra of Woonsocket, R.I. and granddaughters Dakoda and Ryley Lawrence; her son Jonathan and his wife Caroline of Norfolk, Ma. and granddaughters Raegan and Madelyn Lovett; her sister Kathy Bono and her husband Gaspare of Potomac, Maryland and their children Michael, Melissa, and Mark. She was predeceased by her husband, John Francis Lovett; grandson, Gage Terpstra; and her parents Ruth (Nanny) and Robert (Pieyah) Fichenberg, formerly of Alexandria, Virginia.
She will be so missed by those she loved and those who loved her. We still love her more than she’ll ever know.
A burial service will be held on June 3rd at 11am in the Needham Cemetery. A private reception to follow.
