Anna J. MacDonald of Newton Upper Falls passed away 11 days after celebrating her 94th birthday.
Anna was born in Glenfinnan, Prince Edward Island, Canada and had relocated to the Newton area when she was married in 1954. She had worked for Ring Medical, a physician’s answering service, at Newton Wellesley Hospital for many years. She was an avid reader, loved to write poetry and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Anna was the wife of Richard Duffy, and the late J. Louis MacDonald and is survived by her children and their spouses, John J. and Susan of Dorchester, J. Louis and Catherine of Amherst, Gregory A and Patti of Amherst NH, Genevieve MacDonald of Enfield CT and David L and Dianne of Quincy, as well as 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was also the sister of Sr. Wanda MacDonald, CSM of PEI and the late Elinor MacLellan, Donalda Pendergast, Sr. Katherine MacDonald CSM, Genevieve MacDonald, Etta Anderson and John A. MacDonald, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Fri Oct 25 from 4-8 PM. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat at 9:30 AM in St Bartholomew Church 1180 Greendale Ave Needham. Interment is private.
