Anne "Tessie" Caris

 Anne, “Tessie” Caris, 90, of East Walpole, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025. Tessie was born in Boston, the youngest of three children to Bessie and Peter Kapelos. She married her lifelong partner, Costa, at age eighteen and together they raised their two daughters, Valerie and Demi. Tessie is predeceased by her daughter, Valerie Caris. Tessie’s was a life dedicated to family, friends, and work. She adored her children, grandchildren, great grandson, nieces and nephews, her grandniece, and her extensive chosen family of friends. She welcomed her matriarchal position as the keeper of traditions and memories and the dispenser of unconditional love and support. 

Tessie’s career was spent working for the Condakes and Doulos family businesses as a bookkeeper and administrative assistant. In addition to her long career, Tessie spent decades of her life volunteering as an active member of the Hellenic Benevolent Woman’s Association in support of their mission and governance of the Hellenic Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Canton, Massachusetts. It is fitting that it was here she spent her last days receiving the quality care she worked so hard to ensure for others.

 Tessie is survived by her beloved husband Costa Caris; her daughter  Dimitra Caris and her husband Eugene Gessow.  She was the dear grandmother of Emma Castleton and her husband Gavin and Sam Gessow. Great grandmother of Thayer Castleton.

A Funeral Service will be held in St. Demetrios Church, 57 Brown St, Weston, on Tuesday, July 15th at 10am. Visitation will be held in the church from 9 – 10 prior to the service. Interment at Needham Cemetery.
