Arline Weyler Obituary

Arline Parks Weyler, died Aug 25, 2012 at her home on Pembroke St. She was born on Nov. 7, 1911 in Stoneham MA the second child of Ernest A. Parks and Marie (Jensen)Parks. She graduated from Stoneham HS in 1929 and graduated magna cum laude from Jackson College of Tufts College in 1933. After working as a bookkeeper for her uncle at Parks Hardware in Boston, she married Michael C. Weyler on Aug 19, 1939. They moved to Newton in 1946 to a home which Michael built. There they raised their five children, Michael E.,
Kenneth L., Ruth M., John H., and Carol J., Ruth died in 1987,and Arline's husband, Michael passed in 2000.
She was a 60 year member of Eliot Church of Newton, where she was active in several activities, served as Deaconess, and was the first woman Moderator. She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, first joining in Stoneham, and then transferring to the Palestine Chapter in Newtonville. She was also on the board of the Rainbow Girls.
Arline is survived by a sister Ruth Rooney of Sterling MA, her sons Michael and his wife Katherine of Fairfax VA Kenneth and his wife Carol of Kingston NH, John and his partner Trish Hampson of Gold Coast Australia, and daughter Carol J. of Needham MA. Eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Beebe, Kenneth M. Weyler of Kingston, NH, LTC Donald Weyler of Hamilton NJ, Susan Cole and Michael A. Weyler of Houston TX, Sarah Leed of South Riding VA, James Weyler and Rachel Weyler of Gold Coast, Australia. She leaves ten great-grand children and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be in the Eliot Church 474 Centre St. Newton Corner on Wed Aug 29 at 10 AM followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Brighton. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Tues from 4-7 PM
In lieu of flowers, contribution in Arline's name, to the National Republican Committee or a Patriotic organization, would be appreciated.
