Arthur Bailey Obituary

Arthur M. Bailey, 87, a lifelong Needham resident died at his home on Aug 20, 2010.
Arthur graduated from Needham High School and served in the US Navy during WW II as a Salvage Diver. He worked as a Field Technician and in sales for The Boston Gas Co., and had been an usher at St. Joseph Church in Needham for many years. Arthur enjoyed playing the organ and started taking piano lessons at age 85. He also enjoyed making stained glass lamps.
Beloved husband of the late Cecelia (Leary) Bailey, he is survived by his brothers Frederick of CA, Roger of Franklin and Paul of Southborough, MA and was the brother of the late Rhoda Ann O’Leary, Richard Bailey and Robert Bailey. He also leaves loving friend and sister in law Celine Romano and family of Hingham, Mary and Ed DiNatale of Dennis, Rosemary Warren of Neponset, Pat and David Leary of Dennis and Eugene and Gail Leary of Elk Grove CA and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave NEEDHAM on Wed Aug 25 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Needham. Visiting hours will be on Tues 3-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arthur M. & Cecelia R. Bailey Scholarship Fund for music, C/O Needham High School, 609 Webster St. Needham, MA 02494.
