Audrey Yvonne (Doucet) Mills

Audrey Yvonne (Doucet) Mills, 95, of Waltham passed peacefully at home while surrounded by family on June 28, 2024.

Born in Boston on November 12, 1928 to Yvonne and Joseph Doucet of Boston, Audrey was raised in Boston, where she met her husband George. They were married in 1946 and started a family shortly thereafter. They then moved to Newton and raised their six children. 

Audrey was the most beautiful, kind, vibrant, fashionable and sweet person you will ever meet. Audrey loved everyone and always saw the best in people. Audrey also had a great sense of humor. Audrey loved furnishing and decorating her recent home and had a great sense of style.

Audrey was the most loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Audrey was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, George L. Mills, her daughter Priscilla and husband Eugene “Mac” MacDonald, and by her brother Paul and sister Elaine.

Audrey is survived by her children; Judie and husband Aldo Gallinelli of Lexington,  Michelle and husband Paul Ahern of Medway, George and wife Terry of Bristol, NH; Glenn of Newton, and Audrey of Waltham and fiancé Ron Magovsky of Allston; her grandchildren, Allison, Tanya, Samantha, Cassandra, Miranda, Alexandra, Lindsay, PJ, Tyler, Sarah and Elizabeth, and many great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham on Wednesday, July 10th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Funeral service will also be held at Eaton Funeral Home on Thursday, July 11th at 11:00 AM followed by her interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA at 2pm.

Goodbye, be good, be careful,

Your words, a guiding light,

In our hearts, they stay with us,

Through each day and night.

We remember the little things,

Corn on the cob, and Wonder bread,

The sunlamp's glow upon your face,

Sweet memories of days now fled.

Fighting over devil dogs and pop tarts,

Scooter pies, and shopping nights,

Your laughter filled our home with joy,

Your smile, so warm and bright.

You were always there for us,

With love that never ceased,

From real estate to Tupperware,

In all you did, you found peace.

We recall your inventions,

Your dreams and plans so grand,

Even when the world seemed harsh,

You held us with your hand.

You kept young with Jack LaLanne,

And wore those magic rollers,

A tough old gal with a tender heart,

Our protector, our controller.

We sat beside your bedside,

Our hearts so full of pain,

But we knew your love was endless,

In sunshine and in rain.

Though you’re no longer with us,

Your spirit lingers near,

In every act of kindness,

In every heartfelt tear.

Rest now in peace, dear mother,

Your love, a timeless guide,

We’ll carry your memory with us,

With you always by our side.
