Banu Mattuchio

Banu Mattuchio, 48, of Needham, MA, passed away on March 13th, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Banu was born in Izmir, Turkey. She attended Koc University, where she studied physics and received a Master of Science in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University. Banu worked in finance, most recently as a Senior Vice President of State Street Financial Services and Board Director for State Street Bank and Trust Americas Legal Entities. Banu became an American citizen in 2013.

Banu was a strong and accomplished woman with a natural warmth about her, who always put the needs and wants of others ahead of her own. She had a love of animals, badminton, all things Harry Potter, classical music, cooking and family game nights. Her devotion to caring for animals was only surpassed in her devotion to her family, creating a warm and loving home and being a role model to her daughter, Ella.

She is survived by her husband, Todd, her daughter, Ella, her mother, Semra Ozugur, and sister, Bengu (Ozugur) Uysal and extended family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all those who knew and loved her.

Visiting hours for friends and family will be held on Sunday, March 22nd from 4 – 7 PM and a Celebration of Life service on Monday, March 23rd at 11 AM. Both services will be held at Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Banu’s memory to the Animal Rescue League of Boston.
