Barrie Lee “Barrie” Hamilton of Needham, Massachusetts, died peacefully surrounded by family at age 83 on August 15, 2025, at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, Massachusetts. Barrie was born in Mineola, New York on April 9, 1942 and moved to Needham, Massachusetts in 1943.
Barrie was the loving wife of the late Lynwood D. "Lennie" Hamilton and is survived by her daughters, Lee Ann Wallace and her husband, Kevin Wallace, Wrentham, MA and Barrie Lynn Wise, Needham, MA. Barrie was also survived by her five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Barrie was a 1960 Graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Tyngsboro, MA and graduated with a Bachelors in Business from Mount Ida College of Newton, MA. Barrie was a “self-made” woman and owned her own business called Barrie’s Answering Service in Randolph, MA. After selling a successful business, she became a District Manger of Brown and Williams Tobacco Company from whom she retired from. During her retirement she spent quality time with all of her grandchildren, as they were all her “pride and joy.” Also during her retirement, Barrie became an Eucharistic Minister where she would distribute communion to the elderly at various nursing homes near her surrounding town. In addition, she was very active with The SMA Fathers, Dedham, MA and enjoyed spending time with them and even visiting them in Africa.
Visiting Hours will be held, Thursday, August, 21, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Avenue, Needham, MA.
