Barry Anderer Obituary

Barry M. Anderer, formerly of Needham, passed peacefully at the age of 75 on Saturday, January 11th, 2025. Born in Boston, Barry was a graduate of Boston Technical High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology. He was a Needham resident for 30 years where he met some of his dearest friends. Barry was married to his beloved wife, Ellen Anderer, for 25 years before she passed in 2007. He was the son of the late James and Rita Anderer of West Roxbury. Barry leaves behind his loving daughters, Carrie Anderer of Brooklyn, NY and her partner Nathan Franck, and Jillian Curley of Norfolk, MA and her husband Stephen Curley. He also leaves behind his granddaughter, Ellen Grace Curley, who was his pride and joy. Brother of Jay Anderer, Norwood, MA, Lynne Laham, Estero, FL, Ricky Anderer, Randolph, MA, Sue Brideau, West Roxbury, MA, Nancy Pongratz, Boston, MA, and Mary Beth Giosi, Dedham, MA. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

We remember “Bear” for his love of his family and his friends. He spent his career in the construction industry and was always happy to lend a helping hand to others on their home projects. Some of his happiest times were at home with his wife Ellen, on the sidelines of his daughters’ sports games, at the beach with his granddaughter, on the golf course with his friends, and sitting in his chair serving as the Mayor of Webster Street.

Barry’s family would like to thank the staff at Newbridge on the Charles in Dedham, MA for the compassionate care Barry received the last few months of his life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph Church, Needham, on Friday, January 17th at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Thursday, January 16th from 4-8 P.M.
