Bernardino Gerardo Volante, 63, of Millis, Massachusetts died April 10, 2012. Son of Antonietta Volante and the late Eugenio Volante. Bernie grew up in Frosinone, Italy as a young child before coming to live in Newton, Massachusetts.
Bernie graduated from Newton Technical High School for Electrical Studies in 1968. He took interest in building structures and carpentry at a very young age, which fueled the passion for his future profession as an electrician. Of course, he was more than just an electrician. Bernie was a jack of all trades relating to home repair and overall contracting.
Aside from being a hardworking individual, Bernie spent a lot of time with his family. He also spent much of his free time working on projects around the house, the garden, and spending time outdoors. He loved to cook, especially grilling in the summers.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, April 15 from 3-6 at the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home in Newton, Massachusetts. Visitation hours will be from 3-5:30, with a short service taking place from 5:30 until 6. We encourage people to think about memories or stories of Bernie to share throughout the service.
