Beverly Jean (Blakely) Van Buskirk, 69, of Newton went home to the Lord on Feb 22, 2011.
Beverly was born in Boston and raised in Needham and graduated from Needham High, Mt. Auburn School of Nursing in 1962 and her BS from Boston University. She was a lifelong member of Christ Episcopal Church in Needham and a Rainbow girl. She enjoyed Martha’s Vineyard and violin concerts, train trips, watching the Patriots and golf, dining out and yelling Bingo. She also enjoyed time with her grandchildren. She worked as a nurse at Newton Wellesley Hospital and at Vanderklish Hall in Newton Centre, and had also done private duty nursing and home health care.
She leaves her loving husband of 44 years Alan P. Van Buskirk, a daughter Laurie J. Gronbeck, a son David A. Van Buskirk and his wife Janet, a sister Carolyn MacKay and 4 grandchildren Kourtney, Kelsey, Alexis and Ethan.
A funeral service will be held on Fri. Feb 25 at 10 AM in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Thurs 4-7 PM. Interment will be in Newton Cemetery.
