Carol C. Shu, of Needham, MA (formerly of Newton Highlands, MA) died on Monday July 26, 2022 at North Hill. She was 78 years old.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, she had lived in Newton for over 40 years. Carol graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy in Fall River where she was the Captain of the School and President of the Student Council. She obtained her Associate's Degree from Fisher College and then her Bachelor's Degree from Boston College in Computer Science. She later helped her husband, Larry S. Shu, operate the Tai Chi Fitness Movement of Newton, a Tai Chi fitness training center. In her free time, Carol enjoyed following the stock market and was an avid tennis fan. Most of all, Carol enjoyed spending time with her children and five grandchildren.
She was the widow of Larry S. Shu, PhD. She is survived by her son, Russell S. Shu, MD and his wife Dawnmarie of Westwood, her daughter, Kirstin Shu Small MD and her husband Juan E. Small MD, of Newton. She was the very proud grandmother of granddaughters Rachel, Caroline and Emma Shu of Westwood, MA and Nathan and Sean Small of Newton, MA. She is also survived by her older sister, Liz Shirai of Seattle, Washington.
Visitation will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Monday, August 1st from 9:45 to 10:45, followed by a Mass of Chrsitian Burial in St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Ave, Needham, at 11am. Burial is private.
