Carolann Marie (Aquino) Fales, age 78, passed away peacefully in her home on April 12, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Fales aka “Big Ed”, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Allston, Massachusetts, Carol later made her home in Needham as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was known for her warmth and generosity in the lives of those around her. Carol spent many years professionally at 3Com and Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA prior to retiring.
Carol was a devoted member of Saint Joseph Parish in Needham for over 50 years. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life.
Carol is survived by her sons, Michael Fales of Franklin, Massachusetts, and his wife Kristen, and their daughters Hailey and Chloe; and Daniel Fales of Webster, Massachusetts, and his wife Kristyn, and their daughters Kendyl and Kallie.
She is also survived by Edward Fales of Melrose, Massachusetts, and his wife Nancy; their daughter Krista and her husband Matt, and their daughter Gabriela; Barbara Ropke of New Berwick, Maine; and David Fales, who predeceased her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to medical teams at Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute, Beth Isreal Oncology, as well as the hospice nurses and aides, for their compassion, care, and support throughout Carol’s treatment.
Carol's kindness, devotion, and unwavering love will be remembered. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham, Massachusetts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Avenue, Needham, Massachusetts.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s memory may be made to Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute or Beth Isreal Oncology.
