Carole M. Lannigan (Millar), of Norfolk MA, formerly of Needham MA, died peacefully at home on May 4, 2021. Born September 28, 1938 to Thomas and Alice Millar of Dundee, Scotland.
Beloved wife of 57 years to the late Richard H. Lannigan of Norfolk MA. Carole is survived by her loving family, son David Lannigan and wife Elaine of Plymouth MA (formerly of Norfolk MA), and daughter Vicki Houde and husband Steven of Easton MA. Adored grandmother of Alexandra, Jennifer and Jake Lannigan, Danielle Thomas (Houde) and Ryan Houde, great-grandmother of Reagan and Dean Houde.
Originally born in Dundee, Scotland, Carole bravely made the journey to America where she met her future husband Richard at a Scottish ceilidh. Married in 1958, they started their family in Brookline MA, then moved to Brockton MA, West Roxbury MA and Needham MA where they lived for 30 happy years. Carole and Richard then settled in Norfolk MA to enjoy their retirement years.
Staying true to her roots, Carole was a devoted member of The Daughters of Scotia for 63 years, most recently of Thistle Lodge in Worcester MA. Carole began her career in finance at the Brookline Trust Company, then took other positions at Shawmut Bank, Bank of Boston, Babson College and Guardian Insurance before retiring.
Visiting hours will be held Monday May 10th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham MA. A funeral service for family and friends will be held Tuesday May 11th at 11:00 am at the Eaton Funeral Home, followed by interment at the Needham Cemetery.
