Charles Twigg Obituary

Charles Booth Twigg of Wellesley died suddenly at his home on October 21, 2011. He was 76 years old. Charlie was born in Needham, MA and graduated from Needham High in 1953 and Colby College in 1957. At Colby he was a basketball standout and held the Maine record for points scored in a single game (48 points) for many decades along with several other records. He served as a Lieutenant (JG) in the U.S. Navy until 1960. He was a salesman for Servend/Seilers until he started his own firm, Ski Search. Then in 1968 he joined Spaulding & Slye Commercial Real Estate rising to Vice President. In 1976 he started his own commercial real estate firm, Twigg Associates, specializing in Class A office space in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. In 1995 he sold his firm and began retirement. In retirement he enjoyed travelling with his wife and watching his grandchildren on the athletic field.
Charlie was married to Julia "Lia" Belzer Twigg for 52 years and they moved to Wellesley in 1964. He is survived by his wife and children Colette J. Twigg-Rowse and her husband Robert Rowse, Roy Booth Twigg, Charmaine T. Hartnett, and her husband Mike, and Michele C. Twigg and her husband Paul Tulikangas. He was a loving grandfather to Olivia, Chloe, and Marijke Rowse of Falmouth, ME, Chandler, Sabina, Isabelle, and Raelani Hartnett of Wellesley, MA, and Christine, Anne, and Bridget Tulikangas of West Hartford, CT. He is survived by a brother, George "Bo" Twigg III and his wife Anna Mae of Kennebunk, ME.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham on Friday, October 28th, 4:00-7:00pm.
