Dale Pirie Cabot died November 14, 2025 at her home in Westwood, MA. Dale was born May 6, 1931 in Chicago, IL. She grew up in Lake Forest, IL, attending the Bell School. She later graduated from Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, CT. While attending college in Boston, she met Charles C. Cabot, Jr. They were married in 1953 and settled in Dover, MA, where they built a house and gardens and raised three children.
Dale was a source of unconditional love and support for so many: children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, not to mention the astonishing number of friends of all ages and walks of life that she made and kept along the way. She created a warm and welcoming sanctuary where any and all could come and count on a cheery smile, a good chat, delicious food and a crisply made bed.
Dale loved her family, dogs, bright colors, swimming in her pool, basking in the sun, travel, gardening and a nice hot bath. She also loved her colleagues and her work at the Dedham Women’s Exchange, where she volunteered for over 40 years.
Dale leaves her children, Elisa Dooley (and husband Tom), Charles Cabot III (and wife Sarah), and Emily Chamblin (and husband Bill), as well as her eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Sands (and husband Frank), and her brother, Harry Giles.
Dale’s family would like to thank her wonderful, devoted and compassionate caregivers.
