David Edmund Kimball, of Needham, died at his home surrounded by family and friends on Jan 8, 2011. He was 40.
Born in Newton, David attended the Eliot School in Needham, graduated from Needham High in 1988, Northeastern University in 1994 and Babson College in 2004. David was a New England Motocross Champion and suffered a spinal cord injury in 1986. He became active with the Greater Boston Chapter of the Spinal Cord Injury Assoc, where he served on the Board of Directors. He also loved sailing in the adaptive program at Piers Park Sailing Center in East Boston, fishing and riding adaptive bikes along the Charles River. He had worked for UPS as a transportation analyst for several years.
David was the beloved son of Vivian (Cully) and Jeffrey Weller of Bristow VA and Robert F. and Chloe Kimball of Tampa FL, and the loving brother of Robert P. and his wife Alicia Kimball of Haverhill. He is also survived by 2 step sisters and 3 step brothers.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Thurs Jan 13 at 11 AM in the Needham Congregational Church 1154 Great Plain Ave Needham. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be on Wed 4-8 PM in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham. Interment Needham Cemetery.
