Obituary

Deborah “Debby” Prussin Bongiorno, of Waltham (formerly of Wakefield) sadly passed away on July 18th, 2022. She was the beloved mother of Lisa Bongiorno of Newton, MA; daughter of the late Samuel and Shirley (Zouderer) Prussin of Bridgeport, CT; sister of Beth Pinkussohn and her husband, John of Trumbull, CT, and Robert Prussin and his wife Liz of Orange, CT.  Loving aunt to her nieces and nephews Aron Pinkussohn and his wife Julie, Jamie Schingh and her husband Brandon, Mark, Matthew, and Steven Prussin, Tyler and Sarah Pinkussohn, Stacey and Tommy Bongiorno.

Deborah was born on April 9, 1949 in Bridgeport, CT. After graduating from high school, she moved to Boston, where she attended Fisher College and began her lifelong career in healthcare as a Medical Laboratory Technician.

Deb was known for her intelligence, sense of humor, and kindness.  She was a trivia whiz, expert knitter and voracious reader. Deb enjoyed relaxing at the beach, especially in Gloucester and on the Cape. She loved to travel, especially to Italy.  She cherished her friends, enjoying long conversations, vacations, and lingering lunches with them. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, near and far. If she called you sweetie, you knew that you were loved.

The humorously self-proclaimed, “smartest person in the world”, Deb was one-of-a-kind.  As she gave freely to many causes, please consider a donation in her memory to a charity of your choice.
