Dennis M. Peters, of North Attleboro, formerly of Needham, passed away on Wednesday, June 16th, from complications of a liver transplant. He was 44 years old. Dennis was the beloved husband of Colleen (Conners) Peters and the loving and dedicated father of Reagan Peters of North Attleboro.
Dennis was the beloved son of the late Joanne (Dorsey) Peters and Paul D. Peters of Needham. Dennis was also the devoted son-in-law of John and Jean Conners of Falmouth, cherished brother-in-law to Jim and Breanne Conners of Attleboro and Michael and Maureen Conners of Walpole, and devoted uncle to Caroline, Michael, and Erin Conners of Walpole. Dennis also leaves behind many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Dennis was a graduate of Needham High School, Class of 1995. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from University of Massachusetts – Boston. Dennis was proud to be employed by The Mathworks in Natick for the past seventeen years and truly enjoyed his many years there. He was also the Owner/Operator of Accelerated Vending, LLC.
In 2019, Dennis was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), a rare autoimmune disease that affects the liver. He underwent a liver transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota in June 2020 and suffered from rare and serious complications after surgery. Dennis battled bravely for the next year to regain his health and faced his many obstacles with courage, determination, and positivity.
Dennis’ favorite past times were spending time with his family and friends, following Boston sports, watching history documentaries, enjoying summers down the Cape, playing and occasionally winning the Mass State lottery, and chasing his league’s illusive Fantasy Football Championship every fall. Dennis will be remembered by his family and friends for his kindness, genuineness, sense of humor, and his resilience and determination during the courageous battle that he waged the last two years of his life.
Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham, on Thursday, June 24th from 4-7pm. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Saint Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Avenue, Needham on Friday, June 25th at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Milton Cemetery.
