Dorothy E. (Gough) Melnick, of Newton Upper Falls in her 90th year died on Oct 7, 2010 at her home.
Born in Boston she graduated from Emmanuel College and had lived in Newton since 1946, and had been a Past President of the Newton Women’s Club. She had worked for the City of Newton Police Dept as a Crossing Guard for over 30 years.
Wife of the late John C. Melnick, she was the mother of John Melnick of Knoxville TN, Michael Melnick and Patricia Melnick both of Newton, Janice Melnick Urciuoli of Harwich and the late Robert and William Melnick. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren.
Her funeral will be from the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. NEWTON CORNER on Tues Oct 12 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, Newton Upper falls at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be Mon from 4-7 PM. Interment will be in Newton Cemetery.
