Edward W. Calitri

Edward W. Calitri unexpectedly passed away on December 1st 2023 surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 72. A USAF Vietnam era veteran who proudly served his country. His military service spawned his love for Veteran’s organizations such as the Dover American Legion Post 209 where he was Commander and Steward from 1995-2006. He was also a member of the Needham VFW Post 2498, Needham Village Club and the Needham Sportsman’s Club. He was a highly esteemed Ford automotive mechanic and gunsmith in Colorado. His love for mechanical work allowed him keep his passion alive with small engine repair in the town of Needham. He was a respected member of the community and was always willing to help in any capacity. He leaves behind his loving partner Michele Pitman Taylor and her 4 adult children, his loving step sons Michael and Justin Rabbitt Kineen and his wife Alison, his nephew Danny Stevens, his cousins Peter and Pam Calitri and countless friends and family. He is pre-deceased by his loving wife Florence L. Calitri and his infant son Joseph Calitri. His love, loyalty and generosity to his close family, friends, and the organizations he loved will be remembered with fondness.

A Graveside Service will be held at Needham Cemetery, 128Nehoiden St, Needham, on Wednesday, December 13th at 2pm. A Celebration of Ed’s life will follow at the Dover Legion, 32 Dedham St., Dover MA. Donations in Ed’s name may be made to the Dover American Legion, Post 209, Dover MA 02030 or to the Needham VFW, 20 Junction St, Needham MA 02492.
