Edward T. "Ned" Murphy

Edward T. “Ned” Murphy, of Waltham, died on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at his home. He was 85 years old. Ned grew up in Brookline and was a graduate of Needham High School High School Class of 1957.  Ned served in the US Navy from 1958- 1960. He worked as an electrical mechanical technician for most of his life. He was a loving father to Edward, James and Shannon and was also a loving grandfather. Ned was beloved son of the late Peter H. and Mary (Devaney) Murphy. He was the loving brother of Theresa M. Denton and her husband Doug of San Diego, CA, Thomas Murphy of Canton, Michael Murphy and his wife Christine of Millis and the late Mary, Joseph, and Rose, John, Sister Rose Joseph Murphy, CSJ, Peter and his wife Lucille. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Friday November 15th from 10-11:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Needham. In lieu of flowers donations in Edward’s name may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 637 Cambridge St, Brighton MA 02135.
