Elaine Yalen

Elaine (Brooks) Yalen, 77, of Needam, MA passed away peacefully at home on Friday (March 16, 2012). Elaine was born in Boston, MA the daughter of Samuel and Rose (Fleischman) Brooks. Prior to her retirement she was employed with the Taylor Gift Shop in Needham for many years. Above all, she was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Howard Yalen; her two children, daughter Susan and husband Lyle Lanham of Milford, MA and son Robert of Norwich, CT; and the joys of her life, granddaughters Chelsea and Courtney Yalen and grandsons Douglas and Joshua Lanham. She was predeceased by a brother Melvin Brooks.
Services will be private; Elaine's family will receive friends and family on Saturday, March 24th, from Noon to 5 p.m., in the Yalen home at 26 Denmark Lane in Needham. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Elaine may do so with a donation to the Leukemia Society or to the VNA Care Hospice. The family wishes to thank the Eaton Funeral Home for their assistance with arrangements.
