Elizabeth Ann Brosman, 90, passed from this life on February 12, 2021, in Sandwich, MA.
Elizabeth, known to her friends and family as Betty, was born to George and Natalie Ludwig on January 27, 1931 in Detroit, MI, returning to her parent’s hometown of Buffalo as a young child. After high school graduation she attended the University of Buffalo becoming a Medical Technologist. It was there that she met the love of her life, a young WWII veteran and engineering student, Ralph A. Brosman. Married in 1952, they eventually settled in Needham, MA, raising four daughters.
Betty earned her B.S. from Northeastern University and her M.A from Leslie University. She retired after many years from New England Deaconess (formerly Glover Memorial) Hospital as Blood Bank supervisor. After retirement she fulfilled a lifelong dream and moved to Centerville on Cape Cod.
Betty was a 50-year member of Wistaria OES Chapter No. 138 where she and Ralph served as Worthy Matron and Patron. She also served as Mother Advisor for IORG Needham Chapter No. 57. She was an active member of Needham Congregational Church and later South Congregational Church in Centerville, serving as a Deacon. She was well known for her ability to lead and organize fundraising events, especially her famous lobster roll dinners.
Betty was an avid gardener and could coax anything to life! She was a member of the Needham Garden Club and a faithful volunteer for the Cape Cod Horticultural Society.
Betty was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved attending important events in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her sister, C. Susan VanSplunder, her daughters, Lynn DiRusso, Barbara Brosman, Nancy Bennett (Tim) and Susan LeBlanc; grandchildren Jennifer Smith, Kristen Gamble (Tyson), Rebecca Bennett (Alex Hydrean), Sarah Bennett (David Matz), Thomas Bennett (Barbara), Ashley Pileika (Troy Nienberg), Lindsey Pileika, Samantha LeBlanc; niece Laurie Ames (Michael Bennett); nephew Ralph Ames (Shelley); great-grandchildren, Cameron DiRusso, Luis Vasquez-Solis, Lorenzo Vasquez-Solis, , Lucas Gamble, Logan Gamble, Nicholas Gamble, Noah Gamble, Adrianna Gamble, Landon DiRusso, Addison Smith, Hannah Smith, Lydia Smith, Elizabeth Smith, and Rosemary Hydrean-Bennett; and many other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life is planned for July in Centerville and a service in September when Betty will be interred with her husband in Needham.
