Elizabeth (Dibby) Davidson of Needham, Mass., died on August 21, 2025 at age 96.
She grew up in Massachusetts and attended Wellesley College (class of 1950). She received a Master’s degree from the University of California. Following her retirement as senior lecturer in music at the University of California at Berkeley, she moved to Cambridge, Mass., and then to Vassalboro, Maine, before joining the North Hill Retirement Community in Needham, Mass.
Along with her love of music, she enjoyed birdwatching, traveling, and spending time at the family camp on China Lake. In 2005, she donated 97 acres of land behind her house to the Kennebec Land Trust. Today the Davidson Nature Preserve welcomes visitors of all ages to pick blueberries, birdwatch, and hike.
She is survived by her brother Frank Davidson, his wife, Marsha, of Sherborn, Mass., and nieces and nephews to whom she was devoted.
There will be a family gathering in her memory next summer.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Kennebec Land Trust or the China Lake Association.
