Elizabeth "Betty" (Sloan) Murray

Elizabeth (Betty) Sloan Murray age 88 of Newton passed away on Aug 22, 2023.  She was the devoted wife of the late Charles R. Murray.

Betty was born in Waltham, the daughter of Forest and Mary Sloan, grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School. From there she attended Northeastern University. She immersed herself in numerous activities in the Episcopal Church Diocese of MA; President of Episcopal Church Women, United Thank Offering coordinator, hospitality and Meditation Garden Chair at the Episcopal Church Parish of St. Paul in Newton.  She was employed by Verizon as a Business Marketing Director for many years.

She is survived by cousins from the Sloan and Morrison families and dear friends Paula Nelson and Deborah Williams.

A service will be held on Thurs Aug 31 at 11 AM in the Episcopal Parish of St. Paul 1135 Walnut St Newton Highlands.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
